Weekly assignment

Blurred Subject With Background In Focus

Focus on x subject with a prolonged shutter speed. While the background is moving it creates a sensation of speed and movement within it. EX) a train, cars, plane, etc.

Blurred Background With Subject In Focus

Panning, yes panning... follow your x subject at the same speed to get a clear view of them. This will blur out other people, things, or other. Remember slow shutter speed to create this effect.

 Other Techniques To Capture Motion

Blur your lens, stand at a 1/1000 shutter speed and watch the magic happen. Another way is to st up in continuous shooting, to make a unique effect.. a tripod is necessary for this.

 Determine The Proper Shutter Speed

Ask youself this generic questions.
"How fast is your subject moving?
How much distance exists between the camera and the subject?
How much motion do you want your photograph to convey to the viewer?"
SO.. you got to experiment and figure it out.

 Potential Issue: Excess Light

Getting your Shutter speed to fast means trouble, for your image light. It's going to be dark unless you go out on a super sunny day.

Mastering The Art Of Motion Capture

Takes time, practice it with a tripod if you must, but at the end of the day it's what you will get. A better picture at the best.
